UPDATE:

Craig and James pictured below are walking 22 miles from Reading TA Centre to Newbury via Thatcham dates are to be confirmed. They will be wearing full Army Combats plus Bergen in order to raise funds for Support our Troops UK. They estimate that it will take the 6-7 hours to complete. They are currently studying at College and are in the process of joining the TA and the Army.

Please join us in offering them Support, Thanks and Good luck guys! We will keep you posted on their success.

Craig Spooner and James Shayler started their walk at about 06:30 outside the Reading Recruitment Centre, in the town centre. They then continued to walk through the town and onto the A4 (Bath Road) which is where they stayed for the duration of the journey. They made their 1st stop at the Savacentre in Reading to have some water and a some food. After about 10 minutes they continued their walk through Theale High Street and back onto the A4. They then continued to Woolhampton and where they had a quick break, and got some support from a local shop keeper. (Many thanks)

After Woolhampton they went into Thatcham where they collected some money in the High Street from some locals and then continued towards Newbury. As they got into Newbury Craig Suggested that they go into the town centre to try and raise some money, but it wasn't as successful as it could have been. As they went past the taxi rank they were able to collect some money from the drivers, who were very generous with their donations. (Many thanks)

After the town centre they carried on walking and went up New Town Road towards the college.

They then got to the college and were welcomed by tutors, students and the Organiser of the Charity, Support Our Troops UK, Joe Allen, who were all happy to see that they had made it. They then had pictures taken and ITV local had a camera man at the college recording them as they walked down the path towards the entrance to the college.

Much Thanks to Craig and James for there great efforts for their fund raising. The total amount will follow at the end of February when all their sponsor money is collected.

I would Like to say that for reasons unknown to the Support our Troops organisers that we still have not received any funds from Craig or James for the walk they did. We have tried on Many occasions to collect any money they have raised but with no luck. All i can do is apologies to the ones that donated to them for the walk they did.
